On Tuesday, December 2nd, the Community Foundation of Utah will join the global initiative, Giving Tuesday, to celebrate a day of worldwide altruism.
Through a new program called, Pick2 Give2, Utahns can give two dollars to their two favorite nonprofits each month. This initiative aims to make participation in philanthropy easy and affordable.
Giving Tuesday is a new social phenomenon that mirrors the success of major shopping days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. For donors, Giving Tuesday serves as a reminder to pause the purchasing marathon and give back during the holiday season. For nonprofit organizations it is an opportunity to reach out to new donors interested in participating in a globally recognized online campaign.
Blair Hodson, Director of Initiatives at the Community Foundation of Utah stated, “We would like everyone to be able to experience the feeling that comes from participating in philanthropy. Even two dollars can make a huge difference when we all get involved.”
