Salt Lake City in Top-15 Cities for Economic Confidence

Salt Lake City residents generally feel pretty good about the economy according to the latest Gallup survey of economic confidence.

The Economic Confidence Index finds 46% of Salt Lake City residents feel the economy is getting better while 49% say it's getting worse. That puts the city #12 in the latest set of rankings.

Even though Salt Lake City's net economic confidence rating is a -3, the city has jumped 8 spots from the 2012-2013 rankings.

The average score for the top-50 metro areas was a -10. Overall, economic confidence in the entire United States is a -15.

The cities with the lowest scores were Birmingham, Alabama, Memphis, Tennessee, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Providence, Rhode Island.
