House Majority Leader Instagrams Utah Vacation

California Rep. Kevin McCarthy is enjoying the outdoors in Utah this week, catching Browns on the Provo and snapping pics of bear and moose in the nearby mountains.

Politicians — they’re just like us, at least when it comes to Instagramming vacations.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is no exception. He’s enjoying the outdoors this week, fishing Utah’s Provo River and taking what looks to be a nearby hike. Check out the black bear and moose he spotted below.


It’s no surprise that lawmakers are trying to fit in rest and relaxation before coming back to Washington. Congress faces a “tangle of fiscal deadlines” and a shortened September work calendar that’s likely to make for a difficult month when they return.

Judging by their comments, Reps. Kristi Noem (R-S.D.) and Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) seem to be living vicariously through McCarthy this week…
