Salt Lake City Seeks Input on the Future of the Community’s Eastside

Salt Lake City’s Planning Division will host a neighborhood open house on February 11th at 6:30 pm, to discuss upcoming Eastside projects, including the East Bench Master Plan.

The East Bench Master Plan will be used by the city to guide future growth and development decisions that will impact what the East Bench, Foothill, University, Sunnyside, Bonneville Hills, Wasatch Hollow, Yalecrest, and Beacon Heights neighborhoods will look like five to twenty-years from now.

The public will also have an opportunity to provide feedback on the Parley’s Way Corridor Plan, and the 21st and 21st Small Area Plan.

Salt Lake City is committed to building a responsive city at every stage of the planning process. East Bench Master Plan

In conjunction with residents, business owners, visitors and other community stakeholders, the Salt Lake City Planning Division is currently working on a master plan for the East Bench Community. The plan provides a vision for the future of the East Bench and will be used to guide future decisions related to growth and development. A draft of the East Bench Master Plan has been completed and is open for public review and comment until February 29th.

Parley’s Way Corridor Plan

Parley’s Way is one of the main access routes into the East Bench and Sugar House neighborhoods, and is considered a gateway to the City. Salt Lake City is currently working on a development plan for Parley’s Way with a focus on:  encouraging safety, building identity, providing community connection, and encouraging economic development. A draft of the Parley’s Way Corridor Plan has been completed and is open for public review and comment until February 29th.

21st & 21st Small Area Plan

The Salt Lake City Planning Division is working in conjunction with local consulting firm CRSA to create a small area plan for the 21st and 21stneighborhood. The small area plan will address the characteristics of the future development of the 2100 South and 2100 East commercial node. The public is being asked to help identify design guidelines for the 21st and 21st district by participating in a short survey.
