Press Release: Hemmert Announces Bid for Utah State Senate

Dan Hemmert has announced he plans to run for election to the Utah Senate in 2016.

Hemmert is a fresh face to the elected side of Utah politics. He has previously served in the grassroots side of Utah County Republican politics as a county and state  delegate and as an alternate national delegate for Mitt Romney in 2012.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to get out and talk with voters in our area and find out how I can use my skills and training in business, law and finance to help our district and our state,” said Hemmert. “As the owner of the Red Hanger Cleaners chain of stores, I understand the challenges faced by small business and the impact that terrible decisions like Obamacare have on job creators.”

In addition to his experience in small business with Red Hanger Cleaners, Hemmert has worked for a large DC law firm, a private equity firm and as CFO for the John Miller companies.

Hemmert explained his thoughts on his qualifications and why he is running, “Being conversant in the law, finance and business isn’t required to run for office but it doesn’t hurt. Our state has a 14 billion dollar budget. I would put my qualifications up against anyone when it comes to who has the skills that can help our state make the tough decisions that have to be made each year by our legislature.” He continued, “My focus will be on limiting government, supporting business growth and fighting for the values that we hold dear.”

Dan is a three-decade resident of Utah County and now lives in Northern Utah County with his wife Natalie and their six children.
