David Gessell Named Executive Vice President of Utah Hospital Association

The Board of Trustees of Utah Hospital Association has promoted David C. Gessel to Executive Vice President of the Association. In this new role, Dave will continue to serve as the Association’s lead lobbyist and legal counsel but will  on additional leadership responsibilities regarding UHA’s business operations.

 

Gessel is a senior member of the UHA staff, serving as Vice President of Government Relations and Legal Affairs for the Association since 1994. Before joining UHA, Gessel also worked as an attorney for a major Utah law firm as well as legislative director for a U.S. Congressman.  He has also been actively involved in a number of federal, state and local political campaigns.

Gessel received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah, his master’s degree from Rutgers University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia. Gessel is a recognized health law and corporate law expert. He has been appointed to a number of state and local government committees and is active in civic and community affairs.
