Utah companies awarded for international exporting success

At the Cache Valley Business Summit on April 19, two Utah companies received the Vanguard in International Business Award, presented by World Trade Center Utah in partnership with the Department of Workforce Services.

HyPerComp Engineering and S&S Worldwide were selected for the award based on their success in international exporting within Box Elder, Rich or Cache counties.

“We are honored to recognize these two Utah-based companies for strengthening Utah’s economy and influencing international business growth through their work,” said Derek Miller, president and CEO of World Trade Center Utah. “Their success demonstrates how local companies can make a global impact.”

HyPerComp Engineering designs and fabricates composite-wrapped high pressure vessels. Their breakthrough technologies for lighter, stronger and safer pressure vessels have proven critical in competing in the aerospace and automotive industry. HyPerComp exports to Germany, the United Kingdom, Thailand and Japan—with 10–30 percent of its business generated internationally, depending on the year.

S&S Worldwide, which just opened a new facility in April, is the world’s leading manufacturer of vertical and family thrill rides. As they continued to innovate, S&S Worldwide set a Guinness World Record in 1999 when introducing the world’s first air-launched coaster that traveled over 100 mph. S&S continues to raise the bar for the amusement industry globally as it has become a more international company.
