EDCUtah Receives Excellence in Economic Development Award from IEDC

The Economic Development Corporation of Utah received a Gold Excellence in Economic Development Award for its Industry Profiles, in the category of General Purpose Print Brochure from the International Economic Development Council.

The honor was presented at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, October 2, during the IEDC Annual Conference, which was held September 29–October 3 in Atlanta.

“We’re honored to receive this award from IEDC,” said Theresa Foxley, President and CEO of EDCUtah. “Our industry profiles represent months of hard work from our research team, business development managers, marketing staff, industry experts, and designers. Our goal was to create documents that were data-driven—but also clear, concise, and visually-appealing. Based on the feedback we’re receiving and the economic development success Utah is experiencing, we think that hard work is paying off, and we’re grateful for it.”

EDCUtah is a private non-profit organization focused on bringing quality jobs and capital investment to the state of Utah. The Industry Profiles are documents that detail the most relevant information for companies deciding where to relocate or expand their business. The information is tailored to the major industries in Utah and quantifies the strategic advantages of operating their business in Utah. These profiles have been used to successfully recruit companies into the state, including Facebook, Adobe, Snap Inc., Black Diamond, and more.

“This year, our judges reviewed some extraordinary projects that advanced both communities and businesses. We congratulate all the award winners, and thank everyone who nominated their projects for sharing their success with fellow IEDC members,” said Craig Richard, IEDC’s Board Chairman. “What we learn from each other helps us to grow and advance as a profession. We look forward to even greater participation from economic developers across the globe in the 2019 awards program.”
