Herbert declares School Choice Week in Utah

Gov. Gary Herbert has declared Jan. 20-26 School Choice Week in Utah. Herbert  joins more than a dozen governors and local leaders in recognizing the importance of school choice policies for students across the nation.

Parents, schools, and other organizers have planned more than 250 events and activities across the state of Utah, including rallies, roundtable discussions, meet-ups, school fairs, and more. These events are designed to foster conversations about the educational opportunities available to families.

More than 40,000 events have been independently planned for the week nationwide, raising awareness about opportunity in education.

“We are grateful to Governor Herbert for recognizing the importance of school choice for all students,” said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. “We wish Utahns the very best as we celebrate National School Choice Week.”

As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country. From January 20 through 26, 2019, more than 40,000 independently-planned events will be held in celebration of the Week. For more information, visit www.schoolchoiceweek.com.
