Governor appoints Justice Court Judge Reuben J. Renstrom to the Second District Court

Gov. Gary R. Herbert has appointed Justice Court Judge Reuben J. Renstrom as a judge for the Second District Court.

“Reuben has proved himself rational, fair and thoughtful in his current role as a justice court judge,” said Gov. Herbert. “He will execute the law with equality and justice, and I believe he will be a strong addition to the bench.”

Renstrom has served as a justice court judge since 2006. He previously worked as an attorney and mediator for Helgesen, Waterfall & Jones and taught Constitutional Law at Weber State University. He holds a JD from the University of Kansas.

“I am deeply humbled and incredibly grateful for the confidence that Governor Herbert has shown in me with this opportunity.  I look forward to continuing to serve the Second District and its communities, and dedicating my professional life to them and their legal concerns,” Renstrom said.

Renstrom will replace Judge Mark DeCaria. This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
