Gov. Herbert lowers flags in honor of Sergeant First Class Elliott Robbins

Gov. Gary R. Herbert has ordered the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the State of Utah on Thursday, July 18, 2019 to honor the life and service of Sergeant First Class Elliott Jerome Robbins, who will be laid to rest that day with military honors at Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden, Utah.

The governor has previously issued the following statement: 

“I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Sergeant First Class Elliott J. Robbins.  I am grateful to him for the service he gave his country. Jeanette and I extend our sincere condolences to his parents, his wife and son at this difficult time. Our hearts and prayers are with them.”

Flags will be flown at half-staff at all state facilities and public grounds from sunrise until sunset on Thursday, July 18, 2019 only. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a mark of respect.
