Ivory Homes to commemorate sale of 20,000th Utah home and tout sustainability and affordability efforts

Gov. Gary R. Herbert will join Ivory Homes on Thursday, October 10 at 10:30 a.m. to commemorate the completion of its 20,000th home and outline plans to expand its Utah Workforce Housing Priority (UWHP) initiative and unveil enhancements to the company’s industry-leading eco-friendly homes.

The event will be held at University of Utah’s Rice Eccles Stadium, Scholarship Room – Level 4

451 S 1400 E, Salt Lake City.

Attending will be Gov. Herbert, Ivory Homes CEO Clark Ivory, Salt Lake Chamber CEO Derek Miller, University of Utah Athletic Director Mark Harlan, University of Utah Associate Dean Natalie Gochnour, and the family who purchased Ivory’s 20,000th home.

“We’re proud to have enabled so many thousands of Utahns to become homeowners,” said Ivory. “While 20,000 homes is an impressive number, being number one isn’t just about building the most houses. It’s about really contributing to our community, making a difference in housing in every way, whether it’s through affordability, quality, energy, efficiency, or sustainability.”

Ivory Homes has been Utah’s #1 Homebuilder for 31 consecutive years and has achieved this milestone after 50 years of building homes for Utahns.

About the Utah Workforce Housing Priority

The UWHP, launched in February 2019, offers homes at discounted prices for critical members of the workforce, provides landscaping and $2,000 towards closing costs or appliances. In total, the program has helped more than 100 teachers, police officers, firefighters, nurses, veterans, members of the construction trades and first-time homebuyers achieve homeownership through the program.
