Governor appoints Gregory Lamb to the Eighth District Court

Gov. Gary R. Herbert has appointed Gregory Lamb as a judge to fill a vacancy on the Eighth District Court bench.

“Gregory Lamb has proved himself a knowledgeable and experienced attorney, and I believe he will be a good judge,” said. Gov. Herbert. “I am confident he will serve those in the Eighth District with integrity, wisdom, and with a good heart.” 

Lamb currently serves as county attorney for the Uintah County Attorney Office. He previously served as a special prosecutor for the Duchesne County Attorney’s Office. For most of his career he served in a private practice, Stringham and Lamb Law Office, as an attorney at law. Lamb received a J.D. from the S.J. Quinney School of Law at the University of Utah. He also received his master’s degree in public policy and his undergraduate in political science and sociology from Brigham Young University. 

“I thank Gov. Herbert for his trust and confidence in me,” Lamb said. “The appointment to serve in the Eighth District Court is a great privilege and responsibility and I will treat it as such.  I am thrilled to serve my community in this capacity.” 

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
