U of U police chief being forced out, says attorney

According to the Salt Lake Tribune’s Courtney Tanner, Rodney Chatman, the police chief brought in after Lauren McCluskey’s murder, is being “forced out as a scapegoat” for his transparency is discussing missteps in the case.

He was placed on administrative leave on December 10 and the U’s Chief Safety Officer issued a statement that the Utah Attorney General’s Office is investigating Chatman after allegations of unspecified criminal offenses but apparently related to releasing a report about Officer Miguel Deras sharing explicit photos of Lauren to his co-workers.
