Deseret Wellness, LLC, to open the Wasatch Back’s only medical cannabis pharmacy

Today, Deseret Wellness LLC unveiled the Wasatch Back’s only medical cannabis pharmacy.  Located on Kearns Blvd. in the heart of Park City, this state-of-the-art and patient-focused facility is well positioned to take care of patient needs throughout Summit, Wasatch, and Morgan Counties.  The pharmacy opens to the public in early February.

The Park City pharmacy will be Deseret Wellness’ second facility.  Deseret Wellness Provo, the company’s first pharmacy in Utah, which opened in August 2020, has already served thousands of patients in its first five months of operation.  “Deseret Wellness Provo’s patients have had such great experiences and we are so excited to see that replicated for patients all along the Wasatch Back,” said Desiree Hennessy, Executive Director of Utah Patients Coalition.

In addition to being ideally located for the nearly 90,000 residents along the Wasatch Back, Deseret Wellness Park City will have the benefit of a highly experienced staff with over twenty years of experience in the medical cannabis industry.   “We are taking everything we know, everything we’ve learned in Utah County – from all the patients we’ve served and from all the staff who have served them – and bringing that knowledge and experience to Park City to make the best possible experience for the patients along the Wasatch Back, “ said Jeremy Sumerix, Market President of Deseret Wellness.

Rich Oborn, Director of the Center for Medical Cannabis at the Utah Department of Health, says, “This will be the eighth medical cannabis pharmacy in the State of Utah, which is pretty exciting!  I think [Deseret Wellness Park City] will find a lot of business.  Proposition 2 [the 2018 Medical Marijuana citizen’s initiative]. . . passed in Summit County by a higher percentage than any other county in the State of Utah.”

When it opens in early February, Deseret Wellness Park City will be stocked with a wide variety of Utah-sourced medical cannabis products – everything from flower and pens to blister packs – in hopes of offering patients access to effective treatments for a wide range of medical needs, including chronic pain, end of life care, epilepsy and PTSD.

Sumerix is enthusiastic about the reality of a second pharmacy, “we simply can’t wait to start serving patients on the Wasatch Back!”
