SL County to hold online community engagement for West General Plan

As part of the process developing the West General Plan, Salt Lake County invites residents to join and participate in one of four meetings to be held this month, where they will learn more about the Plan and have the opportunity to give additional feedback.

The West General Plan focuses on unincorporated areas in the western portion of Salt Lake County, from the shoreline of the Great Salt Lake and Oquirrh Mountains to the Traverse Mountains. The General Plan will provide a big-picture guide for officials and residents to prepare for growth and ensure conservation efforts for the next 20 to 50 years.

Due to COVID-19, these engagement meetings will be held virtually; however, Salt Lake County is exited to expand public participation through the convenience of digital meetings rather than typical in-person open houses held at physical locations. Advance registration is required.

“Salt Lake County planning staff are excited to share preliminary progress and direction for the West General Plan with the public,” Salt Lake County Planning Manager Jake Young said. “We know many residents are deeply invested in the west side and hope even more will become invested in providing input via these online meetings.”

Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting for areas in which they have interest:
