Utah Democrats Name Lauren Littlefield as Executive Director

The Utah Democratic Party Peter Corroon and its Executive Committee are proud to announce Lauren Littlefield as the Executive Director of the Utah Democratic Party.

She is taking the position of outgoing Executive Director Matt Lyon who is stepping down at the end of the month. 

Prior to this position, Littlefield served at the Political Director of the Utah Democratic Party, Executive Director of the Salt Lake County Party.  A Utah native, Lauren has been working in Democratic politics since 2004, starting when she was a student at the University of Utah where she worked on legislative campaigns and initiatives as well as municipal campaigns.  Lauren also served as the Manager of Programs and Advocacy for Equality Utah, where she focused on community building throughout the state. 

“Lauren’s wealth of experience and background in community organizing throughout the state makes her the ideal candidate to grow the Utah Democratic Party in all 29 counties.  She is passionate, committed, and extremely talented.  We are lucky to have her,” stated Peter Corroon, Chair of the Utah Democratic Party.

Littlefield’s appointment comes following a very competitive search and process, with over 38 qualified applicants from around the country being considered. 

Littlefield stated, "I am honored to become the next Executive Director of the Utah Democratic Party.  I have some big shoes to fill following Matt Lyon's tenure.  I love working with people and Utah politics, and look forward to improving Utah communities by electing forward-thinking Democratic candidates."
