House Democratic Caucus Leader Brian King expressed his deepest condolences on the loss of Rosalind McGee, former Representative and his direct predecessor of District 28.
He said, “This is a great loss for the state of Utah. Roz was a champion for children through her continued service. She has always been someone I looked up to, someone I respected greatly. In the world of politics, elected officials come and go. Few are able to make the impression that Roz made on her community, and on me. When I was elected to succeed her, I knew I had big shoes to fill.”
One of her more notable achievements was helping to establish Voices for Utah Children. She served 13 years as its first director and was a forceful and effective advocate for children’s issues in Utah. She will be greatly missed by current and former members of the caucus.
