World Trade Center Utah, in partnership with the Governor's Office of Economic Development and the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, is delighted to welcome The Honorable Dongman Han, Consul General of the Republic of Korea, and Kwangjae Kim, Korean Economic Consul, who will be joining us for a luncheon at the World Trade Center Building in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
We would like to invite the Utah business community and education leaders to join us. The Consul General will give a short presentation on the current economic, cultural, political and educational situation in the Republic of Korea.
Due to high demand for the luncheons and to best utilize the Consul General's time, seating is reserved for attendees currently or considering doing business in theRepublic of Korea. To this end, please indicate your interest in attending the luncheon by submitting your information through the request form. If WTC Utah is able to confirm your seat you will be notified via email. In March 2012, the United States and the Republic of Korea implemented the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA). The KORUS FTA has provided tangible benefits to both economies with increases in trading goods, services and investments and has also played a major role in developing bilateral economic cooperation. The Republic of Korea is the United States sixth-largest goods trading partner. The U.S. and the Republic of Korea belong to a number of the same international organizations, including Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the United Nations, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, G-20, World Trade Organization, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum, International Monetary Fund and World Bank.
