Can’t we just assume that most entertainers take some kind of controlled substance and most politicians really should?
No one! In this enhanced age, who’s to say you shouldn’t be all that you can be? After all, is Botox a drug? Diet mixtures? Vitamins? Nah… Performance enhancing might improve some of our politicians, anyhow.
Especially politicians! I wish there was a way to do this for entertainers, but only because so many have died or ruined their lives. Other than that, they are not fact-tellers,, or responsible for someone else’s life or well-being.
None. Let them all do drugs then there would at least be an excuse for their behavior.
Politicians, lawyers and journalists might benefit from performance enhancing drugs.
Any business that wants to perform these tests has every right to. I don’t think all doctors should be subject to them, but if IHC wants to screen their doctors then I have no problem with that.
Anyone who receives public funds as well as those responsible for the safety of others.

If a person has a job that would put others in serious jeopardy then they should be drug free (tested) while performing that job. Otherwise leave adults alone to do whatever they do. Athletes will always do whatever they must to compete as long as “winning” is the purpose. As a culture we vastly over-emphasize winning as the goal, that puts enormous pressure on individuals to perform to perfection. An asinine scenario destined to continue as long as winning is the only criteria.
Some professions have been given a pass for far too long. Politicians have had the spotlight to themselves- it’s time to share.
Everyone KNOWS that entertainers and journalists are always taking the pot.
The President of the United States, Vice President, Cabinet and members of the House and Senate. Someone in that group is dopey, right?
It depends on the type of test. Urine tests are minimally intrusive and could apply to any profession (and do for many job applicants). Professional sports use blood testing, which is much more intrusive. I think that level of testing is fine when you have someone’s life in your hands (doctors, pilots, etc.) otherwise random urine testing is acceptable.
If you can kill someone while impaired, I wouldn’t object to random drug tests for those individuals.
Only those which perform routine actions which involve other’s lives directly. Drug testing should be for safety reasons, not voyeurism.
