Podcast: 2018 election post-mortem with Utah GOP Chairman Rob Anderson

The 2018 midterms were not a particularly good election for the Utah GOP. The party lost a congressional seat, 4 seats in the Legislature and had a rough time in Salt Lake County.

Managing Editor Bryan Schott talks with Utah Republican Party Chairman Rob Anderson about what went wrong in for the GOP in 2018 and what the party needs to do better.

Anderson discusses why Mia Love lost to Democrat Ben McAdams in UT4, and whether President Trump’s unpopularity in Utah will be a hurdle for the party in 2020.

Anderson also looks ahead to the 2020 Utah gubernatorial contest. He estimates all of the candidates will spend between $15 and 20 million total to win the Republican nomination.
