Podcast: Managing anxiety and stress during the coronavirus outbreak

Malissa Morrell 01

Coronavirus and social distancing have many Utahns on edge as they try to adapt to a new normal. Add an earthquake into the mix, and it makes for an anxiety-inducing week for many in the state.

Joining us on the podcast is Malissa Morrell, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Salt Lake City. She’s also a board-certified art therapist and teaches at the College of Social Work at the University of Utah.

She discusses with Managing Editor Bryan Schott ways to manage feelings of anxiety and loneliness from the COVID-19 outbreak. They also discuss how parents can deal with having kids home all day because of school closures and ideas on how to keep social connections while you’re isolating yourself.

If you have a question for Malissa, you can send it to [email protected].
