Congressman-Elect John Curtis announced that Corey Norman will be joining his congressional office in Washington, DC as the Chief of Staff.
Norman has worked as John Curtis’ Deputy Mayor and Public Information Officer for Provo during his eight-year term as Provo City’s Mayor and has played a key role in most major projects the city has undertaken since 2010 including the Google Fiber and Rock Canyon announcements, the reduction in predatory towing, protecting the city’s energy fund, and defending local neighborhoods against potential state legislation as the City’s lobbyist.
In addition, he has served as the Executive Director of the Provo Foundation overseeing over a million dollars raised benefiting Provo and specifically its underprivileged youth in the form of naming rights at the Provo Recreation Center.
“Corey has played several trusted roles in the Mayor’s office and been a vital part of the team,” said John Curtis. “He brings strengths with him to Washington including a connection with the third district and understanding of issues important to constituents. Corey has relationships with our locally elected officials and Utah media given his role as Public Information Officer for the last six years. He’s a trusted friend and understands my voice and I’m looking forward to serving with him in this next chapter.”

In addition, Daniel Blake has been announced to the lead the transition. Daniel has served as a senior advisor to the Curtis campaign and will spearhead and oversee the resume acquisition and transition operations.
Daniel is the founder of EcoScraps and was CEO until it was acquired by Scott’s Miracle-Gro (NYSE: SMG). He has led projects with the United Nation’s World Food Programme, been a featured presenter at Amazon’s MARS conference and currently advises multiple startups. He has been named one of the top 25 social entrepreneurs in America (Bloomberg BusinessWeek), an all-star Entrepreneur (Forbes), and has been featured on the cover of Inc. Magazine and on the Discovery Channel.
