Bishop named to conference committee to negotiate tax bill

Rep. Rob Bishop is one of nine Republicans from the House that will negotiate with the Senate to resolve differences between the two tax plans.

The Hill reports that Bishop is one of four Republican’s outside of the powerful Ways and Means Committee who will help the team deal with issues that are not part their natural purview.

The Senate-passed bill allows for drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and sells oil from the strategic petroleum reserve.

 

House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Rob Bishop (R-Utah) and committee member Don Young (R-Alaska) will be on the conference committee as well as House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-Ore.) and panel member John Shimkus (R-Ill.).
