Mitt Romney was treated for prostate cancer over the summer

Mitt Romney, the former GOP presidential nominee who is currently mulling a bid for Utah’s open U.S. Senate seat, was treated for prostate cancer over this summer according to multiple reports.

CNN first reported that Romney underwent cancer treatment in California according to a source. The source said the treatment was successful.

Romney is widely expected to jump into the U.S. Senate race after Orrin Hatch announced last week he was retiring after 42 years in Washington.

Romney is wildly popular in Utah. A recent UtahPolicy.com survey gave him a 69% approval rating among Utahns. If he does run, he would likely cruise to an easy victory. A UtahPolicy.com survey showed Romney would beat Democrat Jenny Wilson by 51-points in a head-to-head matchup.
