Gail Miller knocked off U.S. Senate candidate Mitt Romney to move into the quarterfinals of our 2018 Utah political bracket challenge on Tuesday.
Miller beat Romney handily, pulling in 61% of the vote to Romney’s 39%.
Former Utah GOP Chairman Thomas Wright also moved into the quarterfinals as he beat Gov. Gary Herbert 60-40%.
House Speaker Greg Hughes ended the Cinderella run of Pamela Atkinson, winning their matchup 55-45%.
And the secretive “Buckshot Caucus” cruised to an easy win over Rep. John Curtis 71-29%.
Our quarterfinal matchups are now set:
- Utah Education Association vs. House Majority Leader Brad Wilson
- Attorney General Sean Reyes vs. Jon Huntsman Jr.
- Buckshot Caucus vs. Gail Miller
- House Speaker Greg Hughes vs. Thomas Wright
