4th CD race between Love and McAdams now rated as a ‘toss up’

Real Clear Politics has moved their rating of the 4th Congressional District race between Rep. Mia Love and Democrat Ben McAdams to a “toss-up.” Previously, they had rated the contest as “leans GOP.”

The matchup between Love and McAdams is one of the most hotly contested in the nation, with polls showing Love leading her Democratic challenger by anywhere from 4 to 6 points.

The most recent FEC filings show McAdams has slightly more campaign cash on hand than Love, despite being outraised significantly by Love during the most recent fundraising quarter.

Utah’s 4th CD is ranked as the 91st “Most Republican” district in the nation by the Cook Political Report, which rates the district as having a built-in 13-point GOP advantage.

Shortly after jumping into the race, McAdams was named to the Democratic congressional campaign arm’s “Red to Blue” program, which provides fundraising support for candidates considered to have a good shot at knocking off Republican incumbents in 2018.
