Watch: The View’s Joy Behar says Orrin Hatch ‘needs to go to jail’ for not standing up to Trump

Joy Behar, co-host of morning chat show “The View” had some harsh words for Sen. Orrin Hatch on Thursday morning.

During a discussion about Michel Cohen, President Trump’s former personal lawyer, being sentenced to jail for paying off two women during the 2016 presidential campaign who were alleging they had an affair with Trump. The payments were an illegal campaign contribution, and federal prosecutors said they were made at the direction of Trump.

Behar noted that when asked about the illegal contributions, Sen. Hatch told a reporter earlier in the week that it was “irrelevant” that the president was implicated in a felony because the country was doing so well.

“The reporter said Michael Cohen and the president, they may have committed crimes. ‘I don’t care’ he said. Where have we come when a senator from Utah is saying I don’t care if he committed a crime?” said Behar.

After a commercial break, co-host Megan McCain brought up humorous posts on Hatch’s Twitter account when Behar quipped, “He needs to go to jail, too.”

We have reached out to Sen. Hatch’s office for a response and will update this post if they respond.
