Job approval ratings for Romney, Lee solidly in positive territory according to new poll

Sen. Mitt Romney gets positive marks for his job performance from half of Utahns, while Sen. Mike Lee’s approval rating is a little lower according to a new survey.

Morning Consult surveyed voters across the country in all 50 states for their approval ratings, which they publish every quarter.

50% of Utah voters approved of Sen. Romney’s job performance while 29% disapproved, giving him a +21 net approval rating.

Sen. Mike Lee had a lower net approval rating of +18 as 45% of Utah voters approved of his job performance, while 27% said they disapproved. 28% had no opinion.

Romney’s 50% approval rating had him tied for 18th most popular out of 100 members of the U.S. Senate. Lee was tied for 50th place, putting his approval rating right in the middle of the Senate.

Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont had the highest approval rating among U.S. Senators in the poll at 62%. He was followed by Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont (59%), Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota (58%), Maine Sen. Angus King (58%) and Wyoming Republican John Barrasso (56%).

The least popular Senators in America according to the survey were New Jersey Democrat Bob Menendez at 33%, Michigan Democrat Gary Peters (33%), North Carolina Republican Thom Tillis (34%), Arizona Republican Martha McSaly (35%), Colorado Republican Cory Gardner (35%) and Kansas Republican Pat Roberts (35%).

The margin of error for Lee and Romney’s approval rating is +/- 2%.
