Hill to receive 86th Fighter Weapons Squadron

Rep. Rob Bishop (UT-01) was informed by the United States Air Force of the relocation of the 86th Fighter Weapons Squadron from Eglin Air Force Base in Florida to Utah’s Hill Air Force Base (HAFB).

According to the Air Force, The decision increases the base population at Hill Air Force Base by 55 personnel (adds 42 military, eight civilian, and 16 contractor personnel.) Following the news, Rep. Bishop released this statement:

“This announcement reemphasizes the strategic importance of Utah’s Hill Air Force Base and the Utah Test and Training Range. For decades, Utah’s active duty, civilian, and contractor workforce has demonstrated its ability to perform at the highest levels. This addition will strengthen and further solidify that excellence. Utah plays a crucial role in the strategic strength of our nation. It is heartening to know the Air Force shares this confidence.”
