Sen. Mitt Romney said Friday he may not endorse President Donald Trump for re-election, and he might skip making an endorsement altogether in the 2020 presidential contest.

“I don’t think endorsements are worth a thimble of spit. I wouldn’t be surprised if I stay out of the endorsements,” Said Romney according to the Associated Press

That being said, Romney added he thought President Donald Trump would likely win another term in office, but “it’s not a sure thing.”

After blasting Trump as a “fraud” during the 2016 presidential race, Romney wrote his wife Ann’s name in on his presidential ballot that year.

Romney has been one of the most vocal critics of President Trump, despite courting Trump’s endorsement in his 2012 presidential bid.

Last week, Romney used his inaugural speech on the Senate floor to scold President Trump’s foreign policy moves, saying the U.S. needs to forge closer ties to our allies in Europe.
