Talent Ready Utah connects industry with education to build Utah’s talent pipeline. The program introduces students to companies through work-based learning and stackable credentials, creating greater awareness of employment opportunities and positioning the state to meet growing workforce demands.

“Talent Ready Utah has many programs that help companies fill their talent pipeline. By partnering with education and strong collaboration, we are able to come up with solutions that help meet industry demand and provide engaging learning experiences for students,” says Kimberlee Carlile, director of Talent Ready Utah and of Industry and Talent Initiatives at GOED.

Utah has developed successful career pathway programs in the following industries:

  • Aerospace Manufacturing
  • Architecture, Engineering and Construction
  • Diesel Technicians
  • Medical Innovations
  • Technology and Computer Science

In 2019, two new programs were added to Talent Ready Utah to help fill workforce needs in the state:

1) Utah Works — Provides pre-employment training programs to meet the specific needs of industry through the Utah System of Technical Colleges as well as the Utah System of Higher Education.

2) Talent Ready Apprenticeship Connection — Seeks to provide high school students with apprenticeship opportunities and stackable credentials.

“The UAP pathway program has opened many doors for my future career and educational experiences,” says Jessica Ericksen, UAP graduate and current employee at Janicki Industries. “This pathway opened my eyes to the aerospace industry where I can gain work experience and also pursue my dream to have a degree in engineering that will benefit my career in aerospace. I would recommend this program to everyone.”
