Romney will vote for impeachment witnesses

Mitt Romney 07

As expected, Sen. Mitt Romney will vote on Friday to hear additional witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

The Hill reports that a Romney spokesperson confirmed he will support a vote to hear witnesses, specifically former national security adviser John Bolton.

Romney has been lobbying his fellow Republicans in the Senate to approve witnesses in the trial, but that effort is expected to fall short.

Romney is the second Republican senator to say they will vote to hear witnesses, joining Sen. Susan Collins from Maine.
