Sen. Mitt Romney confronted Trump administration officials on Tuesday over a lack of preparedness to fight a potential outbreak of the coronavirus in the United States.
According to The Hill, Romney told Trump administration officials they are not ready to prevent the spread of the virus if it were to take hold in the U.S.
"I'm very disappointed in the degree to which we've prepared for a pandemic, both in terms of protective equipment and in terms of medical devices that would help people once they are infected," Romney reportedly said.
"I think we should be pulling out all the stops," he added.
On Tuesday the Centers for Disease Control warned Americans to prepare for the spread of the coronavirus across the country and warning the disruption to American life could be severe.
So far, 57 Americans have been diagnosed with the illness.
