As a Utah State Senator, I am frequently asked if I am endorsing a candidate for a given political office. That is a serious responsibility, and I have been very selective in whom I support. With that in mind, I am thrilled to give my wholehearted endorsement to a remarkable candidate for Utah’s First Congressional District, Blake D. Moore.
Why Blake? Blake is self-disciplined, committed to service, and has a tremendous work ethic.
These characteristics are witnessed by his receiving national recognition as a stand-out student, athlete, and citizen at Ogden High; playing quarterback at Utah State University; serving the people of Korea for two years as a representative of his church, and earning a Master’s in Public Policy from Northwestern University. Blake understands the value of working hard and putting in an effort that over-delivers. He has always gone above and beyond, and those efforts will only add advantage to our district as our representative.
Professionally, he served our country in Washington D.C. and abroad as a member of the United States Foreign Service, working within the intelligence, diplomatic, and military branches of our federal government. His background in foreign policy uniquely positions him to be on the front lines of tackling our new relationship with China. We need a representative that will take Utah’s interests not only to Washington but to countries across the world, helping to further cement Northern Utah as an economic powerhouse. It cannot be understated how important having a representative that is well-versed in foreign policy will be in ensuring a prosperous future.
For the last decade, Blake has excelled as a member of the executive team at Cicero Group, a Utah-based management consulting firm. This private sector experience is rooted in understanding complex information that addresses business challenges. By understanding the methods needed to take complicated information, analyze it, and finally apply it to solve those problems for organizations across all industries is a pivotal skill to have when needing to negotiate on behalf of Northern Utah. These experiences, coupled with his strong character, make him uniquely qualified to tackle the challenges he would face as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Blake stands for conservative Utah values and will represent our district and state well. I believe in him and I believe we have a unique opportunity to elect Blake Moore to represent Utah’s First Congressional District.
