Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker says, despite the Great Recession, these have been good times for Salt Lake City.
Becker says he came into office just as the recession was moving into “full swing,” but that didn’t stop him from moving forward with an ambitious agenda.
“We had to make some hard decisions. That’s part of the job and I feel we made the right decisions. For me, what was so great, was we were making hard decisions and making cuts while trying to provide basic services, but we never slowed down on things that were going on that I felt we needed to do in the city.”
