1st District Poll: Bishop 57%, McAleer 25%

Rep. Rob Bishop appears headed for another term in Congress according to a new poll.

The latest UtahPolicy.com poll conducted by Dan Jones and Associates finds Republican Bishop with a 32-point lead over Democrat Donna McAleer. 10% of voters say they are undecided.

This is McAleer's second shot at Bishop. In 2012, Bishop beat McAleer handily 71.5 – 24.7%. Our poll numbers show Bishop with a smaller margin than he had two years ago, but McAleer is failing to make any gains on the 6-term incumbent in the 1st District.

Bishop is winning among both male (59-27%) and female voters (55-24%). He also is winning independent voters by a 45-33% margin.

The survey was conducted among 201 active voters and has a margin of error of +/- 6.91%
