Exclusive Poll: Love 48%, Owens 43%

The race between Republican Mia Love and Democrat Doug Owens is closing in the final days before November's election.

Our latest UtahPolicy.com poll conducted by Dan Jones and Associates finds Love leading Owens by 5-points. 6% say they are still undecided.

Our previous two weeks ago found Love with a 9-point lead (49-40%).

Our current survey was conducted prior to the final debate between the two candidates which was held Thursday on KSL radio.

Independent voters seem to be moving away from Love and toward Owens in the final days of the campaign. In our previous survey two weeks ago, we found independents favored Owens 50-33%. Now Owens leads 57-29%.

Some other demographic numbers:

  • Male voters prefer Love by a 52-41% margin. We saw similar numbers two weeks ago with men favoring Love by a 51-38% tally.
  • Female voters break slightly for Owens 46-45%. Our previous survey had women picking Love 46-42%.
  • Republicans support Love 78-16%. Two weeks ago Republicans preferred Love 79-12%.
  • Democrats are nearly unanimous in their support of Owens (99-0%). Not much has changed from our previous survey where Democrats were behind Owens 94-3%.
