Not surprisingly, Utah Republicans are divided over whom they support in the wide-open 2016 presidential field while Utah's Democrats are solidly behind Hillary Clinton.
A new UtahPolicy.com survey finds former Florida Governor Jeb Bush gets the most support from Republicans in our survey at 22%. The other eight candidates split loyalties, with Texas Senator Ted Cruz in second place with 13%. 36% of Republicans say they are still undecided.
Utah's Democrats look to be united behind former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who gets 57% in our survey. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren scores 25% while Vice President Joe Biden gets 9%.
Among all Utah voters, Bush is the frontrunner in the Republican field while Clinton leads all Democrats.
Bush and Clinton's support remains the same from our March survey where they scored 21% and 56% respectively.
Scott Walker fell farthest among Utah Republicans over the past month. Walker was favored by 14% of Republicans in March while he only pulls in 8% in our current survey.
Independent voters favor Kentucky Senator Rand Paul among Republicans (14%) and Elizabeth Warren in the Democratic field (22%). Paul's support among Independent voters has fallen 6% in the past month while Hillary Clinton was their choice in March.
Our survey was conducted by Dan Jones and Associates from March 30 to April 7, 2015. 601 registered voters were contacted via telephone and online means (294 Republicans, 96 Democrats). The margin of error is +/- 4.0.
