Cunningham to Run for Senate District 10 Seat

Rich CunninghamRepresentative Rich Cunningham (R-South Jordan) announced that he is officially entering the race for Senate District 10.  

Rep. Cunningham has served in the Utah State House of Representatives for House District 50 representing South Jordan, UT since 2012.  The announcement comes after new developments reporting that Utah State Senator, Aaron Osmond (R) Dist. 10 will be stepping down sometime in January 2016 to accept a position with the Utah College of Applied Technology as their new president.  

Cunningham commented; “As many of you know, Senator Aaron Osmond officially announced that he will not be seeking another term in the Utah State Senate. I want to personally thank my good friend, Senator Osmond for his service and dedication to the constituents of Senate District 10. We have served and sponsored many pieces of legislation together.  I am very happy for Senator Osmond and wish him the best of luck in his new role as President of the Utah College of Applied Technology and all future endeavors.”                  

About Rep. Rich Cunningham:

Rich was born and raised in Spring Glen, Utah. He is one of eleven children.  He comes from a long line of school teachers which include; his parents, grandmother, brother and sister.  Rich studied at the College of Eastern Utah, and continued his education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the University of Utah.  He works as an Investment Advisor Representative with Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc. and also serves as Executive Vice Chairman with WFG, Inc.  In 2012, Rich was elected to the Utah State House of Representatives serving House District 50.  Rich and his wife Tracy have two children and two grandchildren.
