Oh, boy. New polling numbers suggest Republicans are growing increasingly unhappy with their own party.
The Wall Street Journal breaks down some recent polling figures and find that 73% of Democrats have a positive view of their own party, compared with just 49% of Republicans who feel that way.Â
Republicans who align themselves with the Tea Party give a 56% approval rating to the GOP, while only 41% of Republicans who are not part of the Tea Party have a positive impression of their party.
Only 19% of Democrats said they would consider voting for an independent candidate for Congress, but 28% of Republicans said they would be open to a third-party. If you look at Republicans who have “wavering” support for their own party, that number jumps to 41%.
