Derek Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber, issued the following statement on the appointment of Taylor Randall as the new President of the University of Utah:

“On behalf of the Salt Lake Chamber, I extend our hearty congratulations to President Randall on his appointment to serve as the next University of Utah President.

“His contribution to our community and the university could fill volumes. At the David Eccles School of Business, Taylor worked diligently to elevate the program and prepare our future business and community leaders. Whether it be developing the world-renowned Lassonde Entrepreneurship Institute or engaging Utah’s young people and business community during the global pandemic through Hope Corps, his focus has been forward and creatively effective.

“As a long-standing partner, member and friend of the Chamber, we cannot think of anyone better experienced and more suited to serve in this new and pivotal position. We look forward to continuing to work with President Randall on education and workforce initiatives that are important to our business community. His leadership will be essential to the success of our students, community and state, and we wish him the very best.”
