Sen. Lee speaks on SCOTUS abortion case

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), spoke at a press conference regarding Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Supreme Court case regarding Mississippi’s abortion law today, November 30.

Sen. Lee along with congressional colleagues submitted an amicus brief to the Supreme Court regarding the case encouraging that the precedent set by Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeast Pennsylvania v. Casey.

Of Roe, Sen. Lee said “In 1973 the Supreme Court of the United States decided to take some of these otherwise debatable matters beyond debate, first, by denying the personhood, denying the existence of a human being, but then, on top of that, grafting onto the United States Constitution something that is not there.”
