Utah Foundation: Growth in Utah

On Monday, the Utah Foundation released the second part of four Significant Statistics blog posts on Utah’s growth.

In the decade preceding 2020, Utah grew by over 18%, making it the fastest-growing state in the nation. Where did that growth happen? Part I provides a tool for users to explore at a granular level where the increases (and decreases) in population occurred in the state.

In Part II, the Utah Foundation releases for the first time its full analysis of the growth question in the 2020 Utah Priorities Project. When thinking about population growth, most Utah voters were concerned about infrastructure for roads and water. Air quality and education trailed behind for many Utahns, but there are large differences based upon demographics. In fact, both air quality and education beat out infrastructure for post-Millennials and Democrats.
