This past weekend, Congressman Chris Stewart (R-UT) joined Fox News’ Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy to discuss Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine; Iran’s nuclear weapons technology; and China’s human rights violations.

Russia’s Aggression:
“I think Vladimir Putin is testing [our] president, he’s flexing his muscle. I have to tell you, Trey, this is different than last April. It’s very clear that his intentions are much more serious this time.
“We look at our president and think, ‘Does this president show weakness, or does he show strength? Is he someone that Vladimir Putin is going to respect, or someone that Vladimir Putin is going to disrespect?’ And I think the answer to that [question] is very troubling to many Americans, and it should scare the life out of the people in Ukraine.”
Iran’s Nuclear Capabilities:
“The reason we feel like [Iran] is closer [to nuclear capabilities] is because they are. And we can demonstrate that they are.
“They’ve looked at this administration and said, ‘Well, we’re not particularly afraid of them.’ In fact, this administration has been very easy on Iran. I mean, they’ve offered to lift all sanctions that were imposed in the previous administration.
China’s Human Rights Violations:
“China has certain ambitions, and they’re very clear about it…They intend to be the dominant world power – economically, militarily, diplomatically – and they’re moving methodically towards that goal.
“And here’s an example, once again, of this president’s weakness. There’s legislation before Congress that does one simple thing – it says, ‘We will not allow [China] to export products that are made with slave labor. We’re not going to let [China] take Uyghurs, put them in concentration camps, force them to work, and then buy those products.’ And this administration is pushing back on that legislation. Why? Because they’re afraid that China won’t come to the table for a climate change deal. I think that’s nonsense.”
