In its April 7, 2022 meeting the Utah State Board of Education:
- Approved a new rule to direct with the distribution of $10 million in teacher bonuses approved by the Legislature for teachers who took on extra assignments during the pandemic. Funds will not be available until after July 1.
- Approved amendments to a rule allowing districts and charters to apply for new funding to expand full-day kindergarten after July 1.
- Announced that draft gender identity guidance will not move forward from the Standards and Assessment Committee. District and charter school leaders will be encouraged to find the best solutions for students and families moving forward.
