Senators Lee & Romney celebrate confirmation of U.S. Attorney for Utah

The United States Senate confirmed Trina Higgins to be the U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah this week.  Following recommendations by Senators Mike Lee and Mitt Romney of Utah, President Biden nominated Trina Higgins to serve as U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah in January.  Ms. Higgins is a graduate of the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Utah since 2002.

Of the confirmation, Sen. Lee said, “Trina Higgins will be an incredible U.S. Attorney.  I got to know Trina when we both worked at the U.S. Attorney’s office in Utah.  She is among the most dedicated, hard-working, and disciplined attorneys I have met.  In this important role, I am confident she will excel at working to keep Utah families safe and upholding the rule of law.

Sen. Romney said, “I congratulate Trina Huggins on her recent confirmation to serve as U.S Attorney for the District of Utah. Trina was nominated for this role because of her impressive track record while serving Utah in the U.S. Attorney’s Office as Assistant U.S. Attorney. I am confident she will serve our state and country with honor and integrity as she assumes her new role.”
