A new affordable housing complex “Senior Living on Washington” has opened at 2955 Washington Blvd in Ogden, Utah.
Senior Living on Washington is a 100% affordable housing project for seniors aged 62+ and features 105 units with open floor plans, 9-foot ceilings, quartz countertops, private balconies, large walk-in closets, and high-speed Internet. Community amenities at the complex include: a community room with kitchen and lounge, fitness center, outdoor courtyard with BBQs and a firepit.
Every apartment meets or exceeds the sustainable and energy efficient criteria established by Enterprise Green Communities, and each apartment is Energy Star rated. All apartments feature low-flow plumbing fixtures which results in an overall reduction in water usage for the new development by more than 500,000 gallons per year. By maximizing the Xeriscape landscaping using drip irrigation, stone and mulch ground cover, and native species/ water conserving shrubs & trees, it is estimated that Senior Living on Washington will save over 100,000 gallons of irrigation water per year.
The project is located within less than 1/10 of a mile walking distance to mass transit service (UTA Route 612) – so residents can live there without needing to own a car. It is near the Marshall White Park and Community Center, which offers residents to experience the perfect balance of a modern city lifestyle in an amenity rich residential living environment.
The senior housing project was developed by Canterbury Partners, LLC, with Ogden’s R&O Construction as the General Contractor and Think Architecture, Salt Lake City, as the Architects. Financing partners include: Utah Housing Corporation, Richman Group Affordable Housing Corp, American Express, JP Morgan Chase Community Development Bank, Rocky Mountain Community Reinvestment Corp, and the Olene Walker Housing Loan Fund.
