Ratified negotiations with Granite teachers

The Granite School District Board of Education ratified a settlement package with Granite Education Association (GEA) Tuesday with overwhelming support from teacher leaders. Highlights of the agreement include:

The settlement will take effect at the commencement of teacher contracts for the 2022-2023 school year.

“We are so pleased with this package that addresses the common goals of the Board of Education and Granite teachers, namely competitive wages, benefits, planning time, reliable processes, and balanced teacher workload,” said Granite Board President Karyn Winder.

“The outcomes of this agreement are the result of the district and GEA identifying our shared interests to produce positive results for teachers and, in turn, our students,” said GEA President Michele Jones.
