KUER is pleased to announce Caroline Ballard, local host of All Things Considered, has accepted the position of assistant news director.
“KUER is excited to provide opportunities for our talented staff to grow and thrive in Utah,” said Elaine Clark, news director. “Caroline Ballard has been a trusted part of the newsroom for nearly three years, and I’m certain her commitment to fact-based journalism and her attention to craft will continue to benefit KUER’s listeners.”
Ballard has been the local All Things Considered host since August 2019. In addition to her work as an on-air host, she has also served as executive producer of KUER’s award-winning politics podcast, State Street, a role she will retain. Ballard came to KUER by way of Wyoming Public Radio where she was the Morning Edition host, producer of the podcast HumaNature and news editor. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
“It’s been an honor to spend my afternoons with KUER listeners the last three years,” said Ballard. “Being a constant voice for the station throughout a pandemic, an earthquake, windstorms, political upheaval and so many fast-paced news days has given me a unique perspective on how important our service is to people. I’m thrilled to step behind the scenes and contribute as assistant news director. We have a great news team and exciting things are on the horizon. I can’t wait to get started.”
